Guerra Office is an industrial design office founded by Joseph Guerra, previously of Visibility. His work has been internationally recognized and exhibited, gaining such honors as the Red Dot Design Award, Forbes’ 30 Under 30, Wallpaper* Design Award and a Dieline award. Joseph is assisted by his two longtime senior designers, Chris Crowley and Evan Dempsey in their New York City studio.
Joseph and the team focus on creating salient ideas, finding their materials and ultimately defining the forms they can be realized in. The office draws on everyday observations, deep research and an anthropological approach as a means of product development. The ambition is to build objects that live in the future, with a careful eye on the past. The office distills ideas down to what they should be, while keeping what appeals to our human sensibilities.
Guerra Office works with a diversity of clients in a variety of fields, including furniture, lighting, electronics, packaging, appliances, and kitchenware design. In addition to this, they take on spatial projects, including exhibitions and retail environments. Above all, the office aligns with companies that share their interest in great, enduring design. They work with clients all over the world, from startups, Fortune 100 companies, heritage furniture brands and galleries.
Joseph Guerra studied Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design, learning a traditional approach to fine furniture making and carpentry while being exposed to the conceptual design curriculum that's core to the university. Joseph went on to work with a variety of designers such as Leon Ransmeier, BIG-GAME and Industrial Facility, before settling into Quirky Inc. as a full-time designer. From there Joseph went on to co-found Visibility in 2013. Guerra Office is the next step for the designer and his team, a focused industrial design practice that is creating the next generation of products, furniture and objects.
