The Infant Tub was a return to designing for kids. Bath time is an important daily ritual for infants that facilitates parent-child bonding, learning, and becoming familiar with their new found senses. It's a time that's meant to be enjoyable and relaxing for both parent and child.
Through our research we found that infants quickly outgrow their tubs and multiple product transitions are often the norm. We wanted to make a single tub that could transition for three different stages of use as they get bigger and able to hold themselves up. We even found a fourth stage, which is when the tub is no longer for bathing at all, but instead for storing toys. These were all innovations relatively unexplored by other products and we combined these innovations with incredibly soft forms that evoke a sense of calm.
The tub is a two part system, a top basin that acts as a 'cockpit' for holding the infant ergonomically in two different stages. This top basin plugs into a bottom basin, which is a simple tub for when the infant is older and able to sit with less support as well as more room to play.
The features all work in concert with a symetrical and fluid geometry that's feels just right for using with little ones.
